18 APR 98

In continuation of my life.....

I never did get a chance to search for my hat again. Instead, I annoyed my passengers by wearing the dorkiest looking Precision Tune baseball cap you have ever seen.

After leaving Puerto Vallarta we headed up the coast for a swamp tour. They built a new rope swing into the spring and I spent an hour hurling myself at the water in various angles of attack. Then we headed up to Mazatlan and on the way I had a chance to convince a police officer that I was not carrying drugs and he should leave me alone.

The next day we hung out at the El Cid Mega Resort and pretended to be guests as we sat at their pool. I did a little boogie boarding also. Then we continued up the Pacific coast to Los Mochis.

The next day at six in the morning, my passengers left Los Mochis by train. I then drove the van thirteen and one half hours around the mountains to meet them in Creel. We did a short hike in the Copper Canyon to some hot springs and then went to the twentieth highest water fall in the world.

We camped at Bassasaiachic Falls and did a nice moonlight hike to view them. We also had a really big camp fire.

Then we took the ferry over to Baja California and drove through the desert over there. We took a boat ride out to see the whales. We spent three hours looking at whales, dolphins and sea lions playing in the water. It was an amazing site.

On the last day we drove up through Tiajuana and finished in Los Angeles.

Then, on Friday night, I went to my Aunt Marty's house for a Passover Seder. My Grandparents, Aunt, Uncle, and two cousins were there. It was the most amazing religious dinner I have ever had. We threw plastic frogs and grasshoppers when we got to the part about the plagues. We also got to throw scallions in the proper Persian custom at one point. One of the guests is a magician and he did a few mid-meal card tricks and finally another man pulled a rubber chicken out from under his hat near the end of the service. My highlight was singing a song in Hebrew to the tune of "Gilligan's Island." It was a good dinner.

I spent most of last week goofing of in the office and planning my next trip. I did take one day off to go hiking in the hills with my grandparents and cousins.

Today I spent lots of money at the camping store. I have begun purchasing cool hi-tech clothing for my trip to Nepal next Fall.

I start a trip called the Indian Trail tomorrow and then do one called the Southwest Trail after that. I am looking forward to both of my upcoming trips.

Ooops, almost forgot. I bought a new hat today. It is the same style as my previous hat. They no longer make it in white, so I settled for a color called natural. But, at least I have a hat again. I am going to go start wearing it now. Bye.
